This series is one of my all-time favorites, and Megan Whalen Turner is a genius. These books are smart, clever, and affecting. They are everything a book should be. If you haven’t read this series yet, you should get on it! It’s always one of the first things I suggest when people ask me for book recommendations. I have been waiting so, so long for this next installment, and I can’t wait to get into it.
Elizabeth Wein is another one of the greats for me. Her books also fit the smart-clever-affecting trifecta mentioned above. I’m so not ready for Julie’s pre-Code Name Verity adventures! But, ready or not, I can’t wait to get into this mystery. (Also, I imagine it will probably make me cry at some point.)
If you feel your energy lagging and need a little inspiration to stay woke, look no further than Bitch Planet! Love-love-loved volume one, and am more than ready for this second outing.
