About Us

Alyssa and Susan met at a college pre-orientation program for aspiring journalists. They bonded over the awkward pizza picnics and card parties the college paper hosted, and a few years and many adventures later managed to persuade the editors to publish their irreverent weekly cooking column. More recently a mutual and abiding love of books and unusual spices (sumac! galangal!) inspired them to start a new co-writing venture. They like YA fiction, international foods, and talking endlessly about these things. They do not like poor world-building, mushy vegetables, or burnt toast.
